Directions to Activate VUMC Card:

1. The online link for access is https://plantservices.vanderbilt.edu
2. Enter your VUnet ID and password when prompted.
3. Click on the “Door Card Access Request” in the menu on the left side of the screen.
4. Fill out the information form; enter your department in the “Office Address” space.
5. Select “Light Hall” from the drop-down menu and “531 DNA Sequencing Facility” from the other drop-down menu.
6. Click submit
7. Click “Submit for Approval”

Information:

The card reader will allow users that have filled out the online “Door Card Access Request” form to have access to the outer room of the DNA Sequencing Facility. This will allow authorized users to drop-off samples and/or pick up sequencing printouts during off-hours. Users will need to use their card for entry during the weekdays from 6 PM in the evening to 8 AM in the morning, and on the weekends from 6 PM Friday to 8 AM Monday morning. The outer door will remain unlocked during normal business hours, 8 AM to 6 PM Monday through Friday.

The information on the “Door Card Access Request” form is required by Vanderbilt’s Plant Operations, which maintains the card reader. All information entered on the form will not be stored at the DNA Sequencing Facility and will only be used by Plant Operations to authorize your ID card to open the outer door of the Sequencing Facility.
